• Hope this is the appropriate forum to ask a how to questions. I wondering what the best practices are for marking a product as a special order item, as in not something we carry in stock but will get if someone orders it. I’ve got it marked as back ordered, but I’m wondering if that is there is a better way to deal with this? Is there maybe a premium plugin I need to purchase to make this smoother? If so which one is recommended for this?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there @siggibjarnason,

    Thanks for reaching out.

You’re on the right track with marking the item as backordered. This lets customers know that the item isn’t immediately available but can be ordered. However, if you want to further enhance this functionality, you can consider using a plugin.

One such plugin is the WooCommerce Pre-Orders plugin. This allows customers to order products that are not yet available but will be soon. You can even set an automatic or manual release date and time, and the plugin will handle the rest.

Another plugin you might consider is the WooCommerce Product Availability Scheduler. This lets you schedule when products will be available for purchase, which could be useful for special order items.

Please note that all the suggested plugins are premium plugins which offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. You can check them out and should they not meet your needs, we’ll be able to offer a refund within 30-days.

    I hope this helps!
