    Greetings,

How does one setup a multi-date event so that all dates show on the frontend? The “Repeat” Setting doesn’t appear to do anything.

I have an event that runs multiple days, but the days are NOT at regular intervals. This event is on Monday, Friday and Saturday.

    Thank you,

    Kim

You can use the repeat feature. Click on “repeat this event” then click on the field that currently says “days” and select “custom dates”. You can then select the dates (after the first date) that you want the event to repeat on. HTH

Thank you kindly, but I don’t see an option for “repeat this event”. I only see “Repeat” under settings, as I described in the question.

Yes, click on the repeat option on the left side menu and the stuff that I described should come up.

Yes, thank you. That is what I see and what I have tried. The problem is that none of this appears on the frontend. That is, nowhere on the public side event page, or event calendar does it show the three event dates after I enter them (and clear cache). Does it show on the front end of your site??

My website is for events for 40+ community theatres, so most of my entries use repeat. And many of those use the custom dates feature. I have never had a problem with custom dates. The week repeats, where I select what days of the week to repeat the events on, seems to skip the first repeat date, but that’s the only issue I’ve had with repeating events. Entry of all the events would be a nightmare if not for repeat. (I currently have 833 events on my website. mn-act.net)

After you selected the “Custom Dates” option, another field should appear below that. You click in that field and a calendar should appear. From there you just select the dates you want and they should appear in a list under the entry field. Click on the “done’ button at the bottom of the calendar when all your dates are selected. Don’t forget to click on “update” (or “publish” if not already published). I think this feature is amazing and I use it very frequently.

Also remember with any of the repeat options, the series of events are all deleted and recreated when you “update” them. So any customization you made to an individual event, or bookings for any of that series of events will all be lost. I frequently has shows that run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm. I create them all in one series, then edit the start times for the Sunday shows individually. If I make a change to the entire series I lose the Sunday time changes and need to redo them.

Thank you SO much for the link to your website. I am only showing my events in the “grid” layout, and I have disable the other views in eventprime settings. When I look at your calendar in grid view, it only shows the first date of the event- just like mine. Your single event page looks almost exactly the same too, again with only the start date showing. However, I do not see the little icon on my single event page for “Additional Dates”. I’ll have to look and see if I hid this with CSS.

So, looks like I need to check my css, and possibly offer the option of “calendar view”…and perhaps put in a feature request to at least have a date span show on the grid view.

    Thank you again!!

    Cheers,

    Kim

    Hello Kim,

    Thanks for using EventPrime.

The ‘Repeat’ functionality is operating as intended on our end. I suspect some steps might be missing from the process.

Given your specific situation (to create events for Mon, Fri & Sat), let me provide you with a step-by-step procedure, please consider the following steps:-
    1. Create a new event.
    2. In the “Date & Time” section of the “Event Settings” please specify the “Start Date” and “End Date” as the “Mon” and “Sat” you anticipate your event to be on.
    3. In the “Bookings” section please select the “Turn bookings on” option.
    4. In the “Tickets” section create a “Ticket Type” with appropriate information.
    5. In the “Repeat” section please select the “Repeat this event” option. Please select the “Custom Dates” option from the drop-down menu for the “Repeat Every” field.
Finally, you will need to select the appropriate dates ( in your case, corresponding “Fri” and ”Sat” ) you wish the event to be repeated.

I hope this helps you achieve the desired result. For any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
