• I know you can choose a predefined skin color with Customizr, but what if I wanted to set a hex code for a particular shade of blue that matched my logo? How would I do that? Thanks!

  • There is no way to do it automatically, if it’s what you are asking for.

You need to copy one of the css you have to your child-theme. And replace all the hex code by hand.

If you you still want to do it, but need more help, I can give you some tips.

Or you could try this Snippet!

I’ve never done any of this kind of thing before, so before I start a few questions.

rdell, I saw in the comments some people had trouble getting your snippet to work properly with social media icons, etc. Has the snippet been updated to work around those bugs? I’d hate to start and have the same problems.

Also, I’d be modifying the blue color. Would I change both primary colors to the particular shade of blue in my logo? What is the hex code of the primary blues so I can find and replace?

Once I replace them, do I give this new blue a name somehow and will it now show up in my customizr list as “Custom Blue” or whatever I’ll call it? Or do I overwrite the blue file so when I choose blue it reflects my colors?

Yeah if someone could walk me through this, that would help, thanks.

How dare anyone say my Snippets are flawed ??

Hopefully, there’s enough people who have used this successfully. Anyway, I’ll be here to help you along the way. Failing to plan is planning to fail…

Social Icons. I suggest you try to get this implemented and then we’ll worry about the Social Icons with a different Snippet. Not sure what bugs you mean so can’t answer that specifically. I do listen to feedback and fix the Snippets when needed.

As a minimum, you need to change the 2 Primary colors #0088cc & #005580. Up to you whether you change the Secondary ones or chance it. You can see the occurrences in the Snippet, some are obscure and unlikely to be noticed. Secondary 3 & 5/7 may be noticeable.

When done, you’ll have an alternative blue.css in your Child Theme which will override the core one. Using the CT is important. But you’ll still make the Skin=Blue in the Customiz’it! panel.

rdell, no offense meant at all! I very much appreciate the snippet and I’m going to give it a shot, thanks.

I have the skin of an elephant! No offense taken at all, good luck.
