    Hello,

Many people are just coming to the website and downloading logo and other images using standard image url. How can I prevent visitors from downloading images?

    domainname/wp-content/uploads/year/folder number/image name.jpg

This is the standard url for image. This url is visible in source code.

How can I stop this unauthorised copying and downloading?

    Thanks and regards

  • Hi @theoff

Right-clicking on an image gives users the option to “Save As” or “Set as Background.” There are ways you can disable this ability by plugins. Searching the plugins database in WordPress for “disable right click” will display many copyright protection additions to secure your pages.

    Keep well

    HI,

    Thanks for a prompt reply!

I know about “disable right click” and I use it.

My question is different: Some people are downloading images using the image url (domainname/wp-content/uploads/year/folder number/image name.jpg). How can I stop this type of downloading?

    Hi @theoff
Did you have a look at the article attached?

    Short answer – You can’t.

Long ansewr – You can’t because in order ot be visible on a website an image must be available to download. If it’s available to download then it can be downloaded.

There are some more ways of blocking people copying images from your site, but I have not seen one that actually works. So far the longest that it’s taken me to save an image that was supposed to be ” completely un-saveable!!!” was about 5 minutes. Evne if someone gets bored and doesn’t want to do that, they can still screenshot the page and cut the image out of that.

There’s some services around that can help with tracking images down,a nd alerting you, but they are pricey, and you will still loose the imaes in the first place.

Although everything is free for reading and browsing, still people steal.
    Internet is so unsafe.
