How to stop ENTIRE articles appearing on main page?

  • I run a site with wordpress and the articles I post are very long. Having them appear in their entirety on the index page is very ugly and cumbersome. I want to have it just show a portion of the article and then a link to the full page. Is there a way to do this so the index page is not so terribly cluttered?
