    Hi,

I am getting SPAM emails from this contact page, even though I have configured Google V3 reCAPTCHA plus using Anti-Spam Bee.

All the emails have a similar format where First Name & Last Name are repeated, but have different email addresses, mobile phone, IP address & Message – see example below:

You have a new website form submission:
    Name
    First Name : LorenzoCal
    Last Name : LorenzoCal
    Email
    tvbox@t***.xyz
    Mobile Phone
    8891428****
    User IP Address

    Message
    Masking С?Р?РμР?С?С?Р?Р?Р?Р°С? С?РёР?Р°С?РμС?Р° Р?Р?С?Р?Р? Р?С?Р?РёС?С? Р? Р?Р?С?Р?Р?Рμ Masking high Р?С?Р?РёС?С? Masking high gt Р?С?Р?РёС?С? Р?Р?С?Р?Р? Maskking О&

What else can I do to stop these please?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Hi @ssgconline

I hope you’re well today and thank you for your questioN!

Just to make sure: you are absolutely sure that these messages are coming through the form and are not just sent directly to the target e-mail address, right?

If yes, you can try two more options to limit such spam submissions:

    1. Forminator has its own simple anti-spam protection built-in in form of so called “honeypot”. It’s just a basic protection but together with reCaptcha it should strengthen the “shield” a bit.

You can enable Honeypot for each form separately by editing the form and turning on the “Enable Honeypot protection” option in “Behaviour” settings.

    2. While you are using Anti-Spam Bee plugin, there’s no integration with it. There are, however, integrations with Akismet and CleanTalk Anti-Spam plugins. Integration with Akismet can be also enabled “per form” in “Behavior” settings tab of each form.

Submissions would then be “passed through” through its spam filters.

    Best regards,

    Thanks Adam,

Yes, I only have one Forminator form on the website & the form has the invisible IP Address field which is being populated in the emails I am receiving.

I have now turned on “honeypot” as suggested so will see what happens over the next few days.

    Hi Adam,

I activated “honeypot” as suggested but still getting SPAMMED.

Was there anything else I needed to do in the form?

    Thanks,
    Stephen

    Hi @ssgconline,

Unfortunately it’s not possible to have submissions 100% protected from spam but using multiple protection methods does help reducing it by good amount.

Have you tried using Akismet as Adam suggested in previous reply?

Also, did you try using Forminator’s built in Google reCaptcha instead of the one from Anti-Spam Bee to see if that makes any difference?

    Cheers,
    Predrag
