    Hi there,

I am about to set up a new website but i’m unsure on how to structure it

I’m confused whether to have pages or posts

    https://jzo.ro/images/web1.jpg

I want to have a navigation bar with the different catergories, eg perfume, aftershave, deodrant

Then when you click on one, say perfume, it brings up the perfume page with a list of perfumes. These would be images and a title like so

then when you click on one of those it would take you to a page or a post of an item or product

Also if i have one option which would be “brands” i would have that on the navigation bar, then you might have a sub catergory, eg “armani” then you would click on that which would take you to another page which would have all the armani perfumes on it

    https://jzo.ro/images/web2.jpg

Then you would click on one of those and it would take you to the item/product page/post

Any ideas how i would go about structing this?

Would I need to use pages or posts?

Also can you catergorise pages and can you tag pages?

    Cheers!
    John

  • Hi John,

Ignore the above, seems to be spam.

Are you going to use WooCommerce to create a shop? If so, when creating products and product categories they can easily be added to the menu.

Also, you can create a brands section and as long as you have categories of brands, then you can link these also. I have done this on a website previously but I dont think I am allowed to link to that to show you what I mean.

Woocommcerce makes it very easy to do what you want

    Hmm, possibly

The thing is, my shop is just going to be affiliate links so really i won’t be selling anything from my site
