I’ve installed the acx social icons widget. I’ve got permalinks working and the rss feed icon links to the rss page. But that doesn’t seem to be subscribing, it seems to be viewing.

I don’t understand is exactly how a user subscribes to this feed. I’ve looked in the codex, but it’s only got me this far.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

  • The subscribe option is in the users browser. In IE when I click on the link above, the feed comes up along with a box asking if I want to subscribe.

ahhh. I see. I was developing using Chrome. Chrome doesn’t offer any subscription button/link (Mac or PC). It simply says:

“This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.” and prints the feed in code form.

    Thanks for the help.

Now I guess I’ll have to research a way to deal with Chrome not handling rss feeds. Yes, suers may know about Chrome and rss, but those who don’t will be guessing like I was.

Chrome doesn’t have a built in reader. Google wants people to use the Google Reader.
