How to switch back to the MySQL database from SQLite?

Hi @luislu thanks for getting in touch. To help you with your issue could you please provide the exact steps you took when trying to setup your SQLite integration using the Performance Lab plugin?

Any recording you can share of this would also be helpful for us to see exactly what is happening here.

Could I also check with you if option 2 from this post works for you or do you run into the same issue as with the Performance lab plugin?

Can you please advise how to switch back to the MySQL database from SQLite? I activated Performance Lab’s SQLite function, after refreshing the page I was logged out and couldn’t log in with the existing username and password.

It seems that switching to SQLite will change the user name and password?

@luislu You should be able to switch back to the MySQL database that contains your pages/post data at any time, by disabling the SQLite module from Settings > Performance.

If you re-activate the Performance Lab plugin on your site are you currently being logged out of the site and unable to log back in to disable this setting?

That is what I mean, If I re-activate the Performance Lab plugin，I will be logged out of the site and unable to log back in to disable this setting.

Even I remove this plugin and reinstall, the old settings still there.

@luislu Thanks for clarifying. Can I ask if you deactivated the plugin and re-installed or did you completely delete the plugin from the plugin folder directory? Simply deactivating and re-activating the plugin will not clear the settings but deleting the plugin from the plugin folder directory and re-installing should clear all settings back to default for you. You can find the plugin folder at wp-content/plugins/performance-lab. Once you delete this folder and re-install the plugin the settings should be reset.

If this doesn’t work then it could be related to caching.?get_option()? calls?are cached, so it would be worth running?wp cache flush? via wp-cli if you have access, or at least clear object cache via your hosting provider dashboard if such a feature is available.

Let me know how you get on with the above.

Deleting the plugin from the plugin folder directory and re-installing the plugin doesn’t help.

I restart the server and delete the object-cache.php file, and then delete and reinstall the plugin, now settings are back to default. Issue fixed.

@luislu You are welcome and glad to hear you have resolved the issue!

Huge issue, this is super dangerous feature it has crashed tons of sites.
ANd have cost us hundreds of hours of wasted time.

Really sorry to hear that @dexit. The default behavior, if SQLite is not supported at host level is to grey out that option, so users can’t switch to an SQLite database. If you’d like to share your hosting provider I’d be happy to check this further and see if there is something allowing users to proceed with setting up an SQLite database.
