    Hi,

Using the Twenty Sixteen theme, I’d like summaries of my most recent posts to appear on my website’s homepage. To accomplish that, I went to Settings>Reading, and I clicked “Summary.” But I’m still getting the entire content of each of my posts showing up on my homepage, not summaries of those posts. How do I get summaries of my posts instead of the full posts to show up on my homepage? Under Reading>Your Homepage Displays, I’ve clicked “Your Latest Posts.”

    Thanks!

  • I have the same issue.

My home page shows the excerpt and the full post, but I would like to only show the excerpt.

Having both showing is a waste, especially as many of my excerpts are the first part of the full post, hence it duplicates content.

I have managed to find a way to only show an automatic excerpt, using the info at https://www.matrudev.com/post/twenty-sixteen-summary-excerpt/
But this only works if I haven’t made a manual excerpt. Where I have created manual excerpts, it still shows those first with an automatic excerpt immediately after.

A bulk delete of all my manual excerpts does appear to be one option, although a bit extreme. I might look into how to do that, on 2,000 posts.

    Anyone have any solutions?
