I need that really much right now.
Cause it takes time to create design. Or maybe i miss something?..
How do people usually design a new pattern when they have a model design and just begin with the site. you should disallow access to it, so people can’t see all horrible stuff going on there, right?

Some things I can think of, is, from your admin dashboard

Settings –> Privacy (visibility) –> Block search engines (this at least won’t get you indexed until you are ready)

Settings –> Discussion –> uncheck “Allow people to post comments”

Settings –> Reading –> Front page displays “Static page”, then create a template saying that the site is under construction.

Technically, people can still see your site, but if it’s not indexed by search engines, chances are slim, unless you give them your url.

I don’t know if there are other ways to go about it.

I know some people will run a WAMP server locally to test designs on a locally mirrored version of their own blog. Then when it’s ready, they can upload the theme and know it’s good to go.
