Hello! I was wondering if there is a way to determine the click-through-rate of each Web Story to my actual website?

    Thank you!

@jess2716 Thanks for posting your topic. Every Web Story issues events as a user progresses through a story so that you can easily track your Web Stories traffic and events.

The story-page-attachment-enter trigger is fired when a page attachment is opened by the user. The story-page-attachment-exit trigger is fired when a page attachment is dismissed by the user.

To view Web Stories data in Google Analytics you can go to Behavior > Events > Top Events and click on the event action for more details. For example, if a user followed your page attachment to your site, it will track the event action under story_page_attachment_enter trigger.

Please let us know if you have further questions. Thanks.

Thank you! So just to confirm, in this example (https://prnt.sc/1alvht0) the story sent 2,797 people from the web story to my website?

@jess2716 That is how many times the page attachment link has been opened by the user.

@jess2716 – you ask a very important and interesting question. Google provides a wealth of data to help you optimize your stories.

    1. As @luckynasan mentioned about the GA Events. You can also see how visitors moved through your story. Ideally, we want them to start and complete the entire story, but this is not the case. Knowing which page(s) the visitors drop off is important so you can work on improving the engagement and getting visitors to stay longer.

You can see this in GA also, by clicking on an Event Category > then Event Labels which shows all the pages in your story. They are actually numbers 0,1,2,3,4, etc…

Another really great place to see amazing data is Google Search Console under Discover menu option on the right.

This will open a whole new world. You’ll see the power of Google’s AI in placing your content in front of a likely audience.

    Hope this helps.
