    Please ask your hosting provider to activate another PHP version for the directory you’ve created the staging site into.

    This is not supported by all hosting providers though.

    thanks a lot

    i was advised by my host that just add AddHandler application/x-httpd-php74 .php
    to the .htaccess inside that directory to set PHP version.

    well, in order to make it up to date i deleted my old stage site and re create a new one, there is NO .htaccess file in new stagesite????

    You can create a new .htaccess in the staging site and make the necessary change.

    WP STAGING copies the .htaccess only if a staging site is created for a subdomain and not for staging sites in a subfolder.

    The reason:

    If it would copy the .htaccess in the first instance, it could lead to redirect issues related to the included mod rewrite rules in the .htaccess.
