• Hello,

I need to be able to track downloads for each user as our company does some follow-up depending of what kind of document a user has downloaded.

We used to do this via having a login Contactform for each download, which fed a plugin called Flamingo, which gave gave us a csv file with all download listed for each user; this CSV is key for our sales manager. Problems are the user had to fill the form everytime he wanted to download a file (horrible), flamingo doesn’t work anymore and is not supported/updated, we ended up with two dabatases of user with S2
nb: I’m not the one who designed the website ??

I’ve managed to setup S2memberPro to replace contactform & flamingo, put all files protected to force the user to register once and for all.
I like S2, it has a lot of customization. Export CSV is nice with custom fields.
However, I can’t track what a user has downloaded. I need a field in the user table which gives me “Filename_DateOfDownload” or something similar, but that field needs to be included in my CSV user export.
If he downloads multiple files, all data from that field is separated with a comma: “File1_DateOfDownload”, “File2_DateOfDownload”…

I couldn’t find anything in this forum, KB or plugin menus, could you please help me?
    Many thanks in advance

  • I think you need this plugin (by a different developer) to work with s2Member.

Hi, thanks for your reply, much appreciated.
I had a look at it, but I’m not sure how it works outside of logging downloads as I’m not interested in a secure file browser.

I have a list of files downloaded by my members, I get email when someone downloads something and I can export that which is good.
However, I end up with two csv now and there are many information missing per user. I have time, file, email, user id. The main information, which is his first & name, company and country is not there.
I didn’t find how to merge the S2member csv with this one without spending lot of time copying text from one to another.
I would have thought this plugin will add new columns to a user, like custom fields of S2 is doing.

Another thing is that I get constant email when someone downloads a file when I notified a daily report only.

    Thanks for your feedback

You really need to ask Potsky, the developer of that plugin, for further guidance.

    Hey seiferflo.

Did you ever find a solution for this? I need the same thing.

    Thank you!
