How to track form submission to referrer.

Hello all,

I’m looking for help setting up a referral program on my website. Let me explain the situation:

I own a website built with WordPress (Elementor). This website has a form that allows potential clients to subscribe to a waitlist for a product that I’m developing (not for sale yet). People simply fill the form with their name and emaill address and they’re included in a waitlist through an email automation software (MailerLite).

I’m now trying to set up a referral program in which current waitlisters bring new people to join the waitlist. The idea is to offer current waitlisters a reward for each waitlister that they bring that ends up purchasing the product (in the future, when it’s out on the market).

Since the product is not yet for sale, referals will only subscribe to the waitlist and not make an actual purchase (yet). Since we will offer a reward to referrers only when their referals actually purchase the product (upon launch in the future), we need to track who was referred by who, so that we can give the corresponding reward.

To exemplify, this is how the process would look like:

1- Person A is a waitlister. Person A joins the referral program and generates their own link to the landing page that includes the waitlist subscribe form. They share this link with their friends.

2- Person B is a friend of Person A. Person B gets to the landing page through Person’s A link. Person B joins the waitlist by filling the subscription form, providing their name and email address. Person B is associated with Person A so that it, in the future, it can be determined that it was Person A who reffered Person B.

3- Person B purchases a product. It is then revised which referrer referred Person B. It is determined that Person A was the referrer of Person B and the corresponding reward is given to Person A.

The problem is that I don’t know how to associate a new waitlister to the person that referred them. I set up the WP Affiliate Manager plugin and waitlisters are able to register to the program and generate their own link to the landing page where the waitlist subscription form is. This tracks when people come through that link but that’s about it. When they fill the form (Elementor form integrated to MailerLite), nothing happens because there is no association between the affiliate plugin to the form.

What I need to do, but don’t know how, is to make it so that when a new potential customer arrives and subscribes to the waitlist, their info is associated with the specific refferer that brought them in. This way, if they end up making a future purchase (when the product is available) I’m able to determine which affiliate brought them in and give them the corresponding reward.

I’m hoping to find someone that can help me set this up. It doesn’t have to be with WP Affiliate Manager particularly. It could be with other plugins or software but hopefully free.
