How to Transfer/import blog posts to podcast post

    I have 60 episodes of my podcast and I’ve posted them to my blog. Now that I’ve found Seriously Simple Podcasting I’d like those podcast show notes pages to be posted to my Podcast page. I’ve transferred them one by one by copying and pasting, but this is very time consuming.

    There must be a way to transfer my Podcast category posts to my Podcast page.

  • Hey SSP,

    I’ve got a client that’s a little over 130 episodes into the same problem. The files are basically just media attachments to the post. Is there an import tool of some kind? If not, +1 to that.

    I originally asked this question more than a week ago and I haven’t heard from support, am I to understand that there is no way to transfer a blog post to a podcast in WP?

    Please let me know.

    Go to Podcast > Settings and check the needed Podcast post types. This should show blog posts with podcast content in the podcast feed.

    As Falk said, the Podcast post types option should help you out considerably. Another option (if your posts already exist on the site in the incorrect post type) is to use a plugin like Post Type Switcher to convert your posts to the podcast post type.

    Aside from that, I am busy working on an import extension that will allow you to import podcast content from any podcast RSS feed, but that is still a little way off from release.

    This is SOO needed!! Are you sure there is currently no way to automatically add a post from a podcast rss feed (like what Libsyn puts out)? I have clients asking for this quite a bit and I haven’t found a way despite my numerous attempts.
