How to transition to different wordpress themes in the future?

  • I am currently using woothemes headlines and maybe someday in the future, say 5 years, I want to transition to a different theme. If I were to change to a different theme would all my pictures look correctly?

    How do those big websites change their website layout with having there format messed up and without deleting their posts?

    Not sure how the whole process works.

    The images you have uploaded will not change at all when you change theme. What may change however is how they are displayed to the user. For example, certain themes may use CSS to add neat border / shadow effects to images. While one theme may have this functionality, other themes won’t.

    Big websites generally have good designers that are very familiar with update html / css code, so it’s not a big deal for them. When you change themes, you do not lose any of your posts? These are like clothing. While you change your clothes everyday, underneath them will always be you. While you can change your WordPress theme, underneath it will always be your posts / categories / uploads / etc.
