  • Hey @lgustaw,

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The easiest way is by using the string translation interface from WPML

    Just do a search for:

    1. Events URL slug
    2. Single event URL slug

Additionally, if you haven’t already, I would recommend reading the following article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/setting-up-the-events-calendar-with-wpml/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    You did not understand me.
I do not mean to translate field labels “Events URL slug” and “Single event URL slug.”
Yes. I have set WPML accordance with the instructions.

I mean translate the values entered in these fields, to get different ‘slug’ for different language versions of the page.
    Example:
domain.com/EVENTS and domain.com/EVENT/event-name -Page in English
domain.com/pl/WYDARZENIA and domain.com/WYDARZEINE/event-name -Page in Polish
    etc.

    Good evening @lgustaw,

I am sorry I misunderstood your question.

The short answer is that you can indeed translate some of these slugs by going to WPML > Translation Management > Multilingual setup.

Once there, look for the Custom posts slug translation options and check the box.

This should give you the option of translating slugs for: single event, organizer and venue.

At this point, only the single event slug translation actually works. The other ones are being addressed as part of a known bug.

As a side note, we are currently working hand in hand with the good folks from WPML to bring WPML support up to speed. If all goes well we are looking at updating this by the end of the summer.

We apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime.

    Thank you for your understanding

    Geoff B.

    Hi GeoffBel,

I’m also looking forward to this particular solution. Renaming the slug used for building the events URL is crucial in multilingual mode.

Are any updates to be expected soon?

    Thanks.
    Miho

    Hey @miho,

    Sorry for the delay answering.

As we are about to start a new year, we will have to look at all of the pending feature requests and prioritize. I do agree with you, being able to translate the calendar’s main slug is absolutely crucial for complete WPML compatibility.

I will bring this up during next week’s team meeting.

Unfortunately, I cannot commit to a release date at this point.?But stay tuned, there will be an update in this thread as soon as a fix is released.

I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have.

    Best regards,

    Geoff B.
