Hi, I was wondering how you can translate the menu item strings. For some reason I can’t seem to find them in the website translatable Gutenberg strings, nor as a post type that can be translated. Can you tell me how I can do this? Thank you

    Hello, Eva!

Sorry to hear that you faced such an issue.

Well, usually, menu items are translated on the page with your menus, under the Dashboard > Appearance > Menus. Our plugin just enables you to add menu items pretty much anywhere on your website. But may I ask you to provide some details so I can see the full picture, please? For example, which tool/plugin do you use to translate your website?

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

The website is using a Full Site Editing theme so the menu options under Appearance no longer exist as the navigation block (or the Mega Menu block) are used instead.

The mega menus are also not on the WP navigation overview on /wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=wp_navigation.

I’m using WPML plugin for translations but it doesn’t pick up on any translatable content from the Mega Menu Block at all.

All plugins/WP are on the latest version.

    Hello, Eva!

Well, Gutenberg, for example, allows editing the WPML translations as general WordPress pages, where the links of our navigation block can be easily changed. And yes, sorry for the misinformation about the “Menus” menu, it doesn’t work like that in this particular case. So, you just need to switch your website language with a WPML language switcher at the top menu line, then navigate you the “Pages” menu and open the page with the navigation block. This will allow you to edit the page translation as a general page, where you should be able to change the block the way you need it for this particular language. Then you just need to repeat this for every WPML language that you have. Let me know if it’s helpful, locally it seems to be working fine.
