How to translate?

  • Hi!
    First of all, great work on this plugin, I love it!
    I’m trying to translate the .POT file to Portuguese to no avail, could you please tell us what is needed?

    Here’s what I tried:
    – translation in genesis-columns-advanced.pt.po (with the correct msgid/msgstr)
    – msgfmt to create genesis-columns-advanced.pt.mo
    – mv genesis-columns-advanced.pt.* pt.*

    Nothing worked, I had everything in the admin panel in Portuguese (including TinyMCE) except your plugin. Help! ??

    Hi rcp,

    A quick follow. WordPress seems to have made some improvements to their translation settings. You can translate the plugin directly here: https://translate.www.ads-software.com/projects/wp-plugins/genesis-columns-advanced/dev/pt/default. I noticed someone had done a Spanish translation, so I switched the language over to Spanish on my test site and sure enough, the plugin is now displaying in Spanish.

    My locale is ‘pt’ so the name of the file is genesis-columns-advanced.pt.po (also tried *.pt_PT.po, *.pt_PT_ao90.po, msgfmt to .mo file, etc.)
