How to troubleshoot “Map Unavailable”?
-
Subject says it all, really. ??
I think I’ve done pretty much everything correctly, but it’s not working. Maybe I just need another set of eyes.
I created a fresh API key. For testing purposes, the key is unrestricted (and Google keeps reminding me how it’s a bad idea to do that): https://keyforgestl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/api-key-unrestricted.png
The account has the appropriate Google Maps APIs enabled: https://keyforgestl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/api-key-has-maps-access.png
I’ve entered that API key in the Events Manager settings: https://keyforgestl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/api-key-entered-on-site.png (Since the key is obscured in these screenshots, you’ll just have to take my word that I copy-and-pasted it correctly…)
More often than not, page loads on my site don’t even make any calls to Google. Occasionally they do, though, but I don’t know enough about how the APIs work to make sense of the response: https://keyforgestl.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/api-response-huh.png
(Unfortunately, I didn’t think to copy-and-paste that response, sorry)
So, I think I’ve done everything correctly, but obviously I haven’t, because pages still show “Map Unavailable”. This doesn’t work in either front-end or back-end. Anyone else see whatever it is I’ve overlooked?
