How to Turn Off Comments and Pings

    The easiest way I’ve found to turn off comments completely is to change the default value for wp_posts.comment_status to ‘closed’.

    Setting wp_posts.ping_status to ‘closed’ will stop ping-backs – me thinks.

    As far as I can tell at the moment, the “Reply/Comment” section won’t show up at all.
