I tried the “codeless injection” option, but it DID break my frontend.
So I switched to “custom” option, but the damage was done, my frontend was still broken.
The only way to get my site back to normal is deactivating this plugin.

I tried the plugin with “custom” option on a test site, without ever enabling “codeless injection”, it works very well, and it didn’t break my frontend.

So it is clear, the effect of enabling “codeless injection” lingers on even after you switch to other options.
Question is: How do I undo the damage caused by “codeless injection” without uninstalling the tag manager plugin?
Will uninstalling and reinstalling this plugin wipe the slate clean?

    Hi,

Normally that should not happen. Switching back from codeless to custom should turn off codeless injection.

Please post your site’s URL so that I can see the issue and investigate what could have caused this behavior.

    Thanks,
    Thomas

Hi, Thomas, please see the problem in action at https://test.fei2china.com
    and compare it with https://fei2china.com

The test site is an exact clone of my main site, only difference is, Google Tag Manager plugin is activated on the test site.

    Regards,

    Hi,

Thanks, could you please turn of social actions in my plugin under the Events tab?

Hi, Thomas, I turned off social actions. It seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks!

Curious though, why social actions option makes such a big difference?

The code that belongs to Twitter tracking gives me a headache all the time. I applied several patches to prevent such errors but it seems to me that I will need to apply more checks. I thought I fixed everything as in my sandbox environment everything was working but it seems to me that there are still some cases where additional codes need to make sure not such breaks happen.

Anyway, thanks for providing the test site, it helped me a lot!
