How to uninstall update

Do you have a pre-upgrade database backup? You’ll need that before you can even think of reverting. You should also be aware that using an older version of WordPress will mean that your site is running a very real risk of being hacked.

The problems you are currently facing appear to be all theme-related. What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

I would suggest getting a local test server (you could use WAMP/MAMP on a local machine) to test out WordPress 3.9 in a non-production environment. The you can figure out what’s changed and how best to adapt your workflow to those changes. It’s also a great way to test out plugins and themes before applying them to a production site.

@esmi, I am using a Genesis child theme called Jane. I (foolishly) did not backup before upgrading (though I usually do).
