How to unthread a threaded comment?

    Threading is hidden in my comments, but is enabled in ONE circumstance—the post author can reply directly to comments and have the comment show as a subcomment.

    That’s how I want it, but there is one bug. When a reader gets EMAIL notification, they can click the reply link and get access to a reply comment field.

    I want to unthread those reader comments and put them in their proper chronological place in the discussion. Is there a way to “unthread” a subcomment that has posted?
