I know I need to update my PHP based on installed plugins messages saying updates for plugins won’t work until I update my version of PHP. I can’t figure out where to find/fix the PHP updates on the WordPress left menu.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

PHP is part of your server, not WordPress.

Typically there’s a way to update it in your hosting account’s control panel, but I recommend checking your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics.

You can easily update your PHP but always remember and keep it in mind that if you upgrade your WordPress PHP version to the wrong version you may end up breaking your site.

If your hosting uses Cpanel then login to it, search PHP > then select php version > you’ll be brought to a new page, check your site domain and choose php version that you want to update to.

But most of the time upgrading php is broking some sites, just like I tried to update to 8.1, it break my site.

Thanks for your advice. I definitely don’t want to break the site. I talked to GoDaddy yesterday, and they are able to help me update my PHP. I’ve backed up my website and will work on making the change today.

Thanks James, Steven, and Hausae. I appreciate your guidance. I’m familiar with WordPress but not PHP. I was stumped for a while until all of you quickly gave me great advice. I will close this ticket now. Have a great day!
