How to UPDATE theme on server?

    I am building my first WP theme, and I uploaded the .zip file, worked perfectly!
    Now I made some changes to my theme, and it won’t let me upload the updated .zip file, even if I rename it when I export!

    Error: Destination folder already exists. Theme Install Failed.

    Well, duh!! It’s an update!
    What am I missing here? :p

  • usually you use ftp/host file manager to overwrite the files as you edit them

    or delete the old theme and upload the new

    To delete the old theme, I just remove the folder for that theme?
    Must I change my site to a different theme first, or will it automatically revert to default theme?

    you can just delete the theme.

    It will revert to default
