How to update WordPress on Mac OS X's built-in apache server?

    How can I update my WordPress install on my Mac’s built-in apache server (no X/MAMPP)? It seems I can’t FTP into my own local server somehow. Are there any default credentials I should use? Any tweaks I should do to be able to properly download and install WordPress updates?
