As far as I know, you need to join here, if you haven’t already.. https://wordpress.com/signup/ then once you get the email, your API key should be near the bottom of email…
then use that API key for your WordPress blog, that you have installed, that you have hosted some where, not necessarily at the wordpress.com site…. it works with the Akismet plugin..
