v2 of this plugin introduces many new features which you can read about on the plugin page as well as on this thread. Please read the FAQs as well as the updated Screenshots and their captions to understand how to fully leverage the few features.

Important note: if you attempted to upgrade to v2.0.0 and then downgraded back to v1.8.1 due to the bug discovered in v2.0.0, then you will need to download and install the v2.0.1 which fixes some erroneous DB data.

If you kept upgrading through each new versions, 1.8.1->2.0.0->2.0.1->… then you can simply upgrade to the latest version without an issue.

If you are upgrading from v1.8.1 (or below) for the first time, you can simply upgrade to the latest version.

PLEASE NOTE, if you are upgrading from v1.x, your old ranking data remains unaffected in the custom table used by the v1.x plugin. However, in v2.x all the ranking is now stored as post meta. While upgrading, some users have complained of missing posts/ lost rankings. If this is the case, you can reset your order for given term using the reset checkbox/button provided in the admin page (see screenshot #4). It will reload the ranking from the v1.x custom table.

If your term was not sorted in the v1.x table or you are upgrading from v2.0.x or v2.1.x, then the reset button will reload the post order as per the default WP post table listing, which can be changed using the filtrs provided (see FAQ #7).

    Hello!

    1) I upgrade from 1.x and to 2.20
    2) then downgrade to 1.х and upgrade to 2.21
    3) then read this message, delete plugin and install 2.0.1, and upgrade to 2.21

Now I have Internal Server Error in some pages when plugin activated. Could you please tell me what I need to do?

Upgrading to the latest version is fine. No need to do so many steps.

Use the reset buttons provided in the reorder admin page to make sure your 1.x rankings are loaded properly.

Now I have Internal Server Error in some pages when plugin activated.

Enable wp_debug mode in your server and report back your errors.

    Hi!

Thanks for all your work with the new version.
    I just have a question:

My theme is using the wordpress functions
    get_adjacent_post( true, ”, true , ‘category’);
for getting prevoius and next post. Is your plugin following these rulkes.
So the next post is really the one which is sorted ?
    Cheers

@menard1965 that’s a good question, but asked in the wrong thread… can you please start a new thread for this as it would make it much easier for others to find the answer
