How to upload locally developed child theme to server

Copying a Child Theme into a new location and “moving WordPress” are two entirely different matters. To use your Child Theme at *any* WordPress site, simply upload it to the site’s /wp-content/themes/ folder and then go to the Dashboard at that site and activate it after being certain the Parent Theme is also present.

So basically I need to install parent theme on server (no activate), then upload a child theme to server, and activate it, and thats it. Using your host’s cPanel > File Manager is one way, if available, or else something like FileZilla and an FTP/SFTP connection. cPanel typically allows for making an FTP account to any specific folder, but that is something I only ever use for giving access to a Developer for working on a theme. As a webmaster of your site at your host, your host’s cPanel > File Manager and/or a direct SFTP connection (no browser caching) from within FileZilla is best since that kind of work can include things such as the sensitive info contained within wp-config.php.
