I’m trying to use a new plugin. I don’t know how to “upload it to the wp-content directory.” I go to that directory and don’t see anything that would ask me to import new files. I know it’s pretty basic, but how do I do this?

    Thanks.

  • Using an FTP client or the File Manager of your web hosting’s Control Panel, upload your plugin file/folder to /wp-content/plugins. Once the file(s) are there they will appear in the Plugins page on your WP-Admin where you can activate them

I appreciate your reply. However, I don’t really know what that means. I don’t know what my FTP client is. Again, I know this is basic, but I’m not sure how to do what you said.

How did you upload your WP files and your themes?
If you want to modify your vanilla WP – you don’t really have choices: you either learn how to do it or hire a webmaster.
