• Hello everybody!

While working on a site with the FSE of WP 5.9.3 (fresh install) and the theme twentytwentytwo which came with it I cannot find any way to use with some blocks productively…

One problem I have is that there is a block “website logo” that offers me to upload or pick an image from the media library. While this is nice it’s not what I need.

I want to link the website logo image to a file within the child theme folder (assets/images/logo.svg) cause I do not want to clutter the media library with decoration images…

(I do not think that is a good setup anyway – there should be a distinction between content that can be accessed by editors and theme decorations that can be added or removed by the developer within the theme. Changing the theme shouldn’t result in replacing images in the media library!)

How can I access the image link for the website logo block directly and also edit the dimensions and behaviour of the block – I can use custom CSS but I haven’t found any documentation of the way responsiveness is handled by the twentytwentytwo theme – does it scale PNG images (what about retina displays?) or does it use a fixed size logo?

Sorry, lots of questions… the most important are:

    – how do I link to a local server path instead of using the media library?
    – how do I edit the link target for mouse clicking on the logo?
    – what is the recommended setting for the logo dimensions to scale responsively?

    Thanks a lot!

    With best regards,
    jh
