Hello, I am new to Boxzilla and having trouble getting started. I’d like to add a call-to-action in order to collect email addresses when the user clicks on a download link.

I downloaded the most recent and installed to my wordpress 4.8. I created a new box but I don’t know how to use it or where to place it. Is there a youtube video that shows the process of creating a new call-to-action box and how to use it? I read that boxzilla works with plug-ins that use shortcodes like mailchimp but I’m still confused. Any information or links to support pages would be great. Thanks

You can set the box rules to manage where and when the box should show up on top of the same page where you handle the box content.

Within the box you can indeed use shortcodes to display a form (such as our other plugin, “MailChimp for WordPress” or anything else.

You can also show the box manually when someone clicks a link, see: https://kb.boxzillaplugin.com/showing-boxes-manually/

    Hope that helps,

Thanks! Entering the code manually seems like it will work best for our applications. screenshot of tablepress header with boxzilla manual code

Is there a way to prevent the shortcode from showing up the dropdown fields?

Also, can you please explain the process of using shortcodes? We use shortcodes with “Revolution Slider” but not with MailChimp. How can we integrate MailChimp with our wordpress site so we can list a description when hovering over a link?

Also, have you developed a way to require an email address when downloading .pdfs? It seems like MailChimp is the best way to do this. Maybe MailChimp will cover all of our bases at once.

Thanks again for your support, it’s greatly appreciated. Here is a link to our site: https://www.willburt.com/products/telescopic-masts/pneumatic-locking/non-military/pneumatic-mast-finder/ .

Basically, we’d like to include a “hover” feature within the header rows to describe “Collar Type”, “Class”, Extended Height, etc. Then, we’d like to include an email requirement to download the files along the left-hand column.

I apologize for the lengthy question. Thanks again!!

    Hi moliver27,

as mentioned in the other thread, that HTML code in the dropdown is caused by the JS code of the ColumnFilterWidgets.

    thank you @tobiasbg !

You can put a [shortcode] to display something like a slider or form from another plugin inside a Boxzilla box. I’m not familiar with ColumnFilterWidgets, I can only help you with Boxzilla related questions.

For the email / pdf question: You can use our other plugin “MailChimp for WordPress” to create a form, and put the shortcode to that form in the Boxzilla box. Then the “thank you page” can contain the PDF download, or if you want to force double opt-in you put the link to the download in the “final welcome email” that you setup in MailChimp.com

I’ve marked this thread as “resolved” as I hope all Boxzilla related questions have now been answered. Please open a new topic if more things come up. Thank you!

Thanks All! I appreciate your help. Mailchimp looks like the way to go for these applications. Thanks again for your support!
