How to use custom taxonomies

    I’m trying to add custom taxonomies to the submission form/event page. I found this tutorial, but I don’t get where that code is supposed to go. Where do I actually put it? I registered the taxonomy using CPT UI but it doesn’t show up automatically as it does for other post types. Thank you!
