How to use for featured blog post

My plugin is only for pages via a Genesis widget! For regular blog posts you need to use the built-in widget “Genesis Featured Posts” from Genesis core or one of these third-party widget plugins that are compatible with posts:

As for the page attributes and the page template drop-down:
This is fully dependent from your child theme and the templates it provides. If your theme comes with a template for a widgetized page then you can use my plugin to display a page in another page with my widget. Or you can make a custom template for your child theme with that functionality.
