I try to add book-reviews after my website https://localhost/wordpress.
It doesn’t work.
I obtain The requested URL /wordpress/book-reviews was not found on this server. I try book-review-library.php, doesn’t work too.
I think i miss something.
Can you help.

It wouldn’t be localhost/wordpress/book-reviews it would be localhost/wordpress/book-review (no s). book-review is the name of the custom post type and you are trying to load an archive page of the book-review post type.

Alternately, if you created a regular page, you could name it “Book Reviews” and use the shortcodes to display your book list on that page.

(Note: I realize what I wrote above in the last post is incorrect. Apologies.)

I obtain the same issue The requested URL /wordpress/book-review was not found on this server. I try with https://localhost/wordpress/book-review/
I added one book by the admin view https://localhost/wordpress/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=book-review.

I am really new in WordPress, not in php.
So fell free to provide some indications.

Probably you don’t have “Pretty” Permalinks set up then.

I test by using Permalinks by changed Defaut to Post name.
It doesn’t work.
Finally I use the shortcut by add in a page, this content [book-reviews type=”title”].
And it works ??

I am having a similar problem!

I can see this appears to add 2 widgets but widgets aren’t really the way to build up a page of content are they?

I want to build a fully functional library with users and borrowing etc

part of this will be listing books but then there will be a whole load more interaction after that.

your code to stick book-review on the end gave a 404 page not found!

but on another page I put the code from above –> ‘[book-reviews type=”title”]’

on a line on a page called books and then the book i created as a tested showed up.

this is not the intended use!

how can this be used to build up a library?

can other parameters be passed in here –> ‘[book-reviews type=”title”]’ ??
