I saw that in the folder: sample-post-templates

    there are: fullwidth-single.php + fullwidth-std-single.php

I’m looking to design the page that displays a single blog post using Elementor.

I’m not sure how to go about setting this up…. any help would be great. Thanks!

  • Assuming you are using the latest version of WordPress – Copy the template(s) in to your child theme and they will be picked up automatically for you.

You can either place them in the root folder of the child theme or a sub-folder named page-templates.

I have set a page I created called “news”

In settings>reading> I have set the Posts-Page to “news”

When I go to edit the News page, The drop down for templates to choose full-width disappears. ?

The sample templates are for single post view!

What you are seeing is by deafault, WordPress does not allow editing of the page set as the Blog page – you would get a message like so “You are currently editing the page that shows your latest posts.” and the edit content box would not show up unles you already had content in it when you initally created it.
