How to use wordTube with mp4 files

You mean H.264 encoded video files? Try just renaming them to .flv and point the player at them. That’s what I do on my site… and they play fine.

I didn’t try out it yet but I trust your knowledge and say it’s working. But here’s my situation. I use most of my videos as now as a Podcast video as well. So I use PodPress to publish my video Podcast and would like to have them available as video on my site. So my next question would be, if remaining my now .mp4 files into .flv files is going to influence any of this working properly. Anybody experience with those two Plugins working together?

If you’re nervous about testing out the two plugins together, try setting up a testbed on your home PC with a WAMP server. https://www.en.wampserver.com/

It’s a good way to test or develop in a controlled environment.

Not sure if you are checking this blog still. Do you know if there is a maximum file size for video files? We converted the file to .flv but wordtube fails to complete the upload. They are only 5 minute video clips.

I also would like to play my h264 videos but I’m having trouble. They are currently named .m4v (encoded by quicktime, for playback on iphone etc.) I tried renaming the files to .flv and pointing Wordtube at them, as suggested by RogerTheriault but the videos would not play. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Nevermind, I was able to get m4v files playing fine without renaming them by simply pointing the the player at them.

However, the default sizing issue is still a real problem. Videos resized with the shortcode [media=1 width=480 height=320] do not play the correct media, instead they play the most recently added media. A fix to this would be great.

Hey reeves, did you try “media id=” instead of “media=”? I think they changed the naming convention

If u have problem whit video type use SUPER convertor and convert yor files to any suported format. (FLV, MP4, MP3, AAC, JPG, PNG and GIF)
