I’m using the plugin File Manager Advanced to display directories of images (JPG) to the front-end users. When they open an image in a directory, they can view the image. The default image viewer doesn’t allow easy zooming and doesn’t have move forward/backward to other images in the directory. I think WP ImageViewer would be better. I have installed and activated the WP ImageViewer plugin for my site. But I don’t know how to “turn it on” and make it work as the viewer for my images. I’m a novice at this, any help or suggestions are appreciated. The link I included shows a File Manager Advanced page with images that I want to use WP ImageViewer to open and view.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi, thes filemanager seems to have a popup window that was custom fitted for that plugin.
I don’t know how to change that markup and make it available in a lightbox html structure. You could talk to the developer of that plugin.

What most lightbox plugins expect is an a element with a “href” pointing to the large image, and inside the a element is an img element with the thumbnail.

Thanks for your response. I have contacted them and I’ll see what they say.

I’m now trying a different approach to using WP ImageViewer, with Nextgen Gallery (no longer File Manager). I saw in the FAQ to choose the “None” option in Lightbox effects within Nextgen, which I did. But the ImageViewer does not come into effect. I have WP ImageViewer activated in WordPress, but I don’t know how to make it active and work. Here’s a test page that has 2 images in Nextgen Gallery I’m using to test this: https://markham-and-marcum-genealogy.com/photos-from-biographies/ Any help is appreciated.

I see 2 photo’s, but the second one is only visible after pagination. I don’t understand what happened or how NGG was set up here.

If you show a gallery with multiple thumbnails it should work, even with pagination. I think I am looking at something else then a gallery with thumbnails. What exactly am I looking at here? ?? Is there a shortcode that has been used?

Thanks. Now it is working, I can scroll forward & backward, and use the mouse wheel to zoom. When I inserted the Nextgen Gallery into my page I had selected Basic ImageBrowser, which is what you saw (no shortcode). I changed it to Basic Thumbnails and now it works. When I click on a thumbnail it brings up the image in a viewer with the scrolling and zooming I wanted. I assume this is ImageViewer.
