    Hello,
I am a relatively new user of WordPress. I’ve been able to figure most things out so far, but I’m having trouble with YARPP. I’ve got the settings configured as below. My blog is very new with only about 5 posts so far, but three of them are related (same categories and tags) so I thought as least those should show up as related. Any help is appreciated. Right now, nothing at all is showing up for this plugin, as if I had never installed it.

Maximum number of related posts: 5
    Match threshold: 5

    Display options
Before / After (Post Title) :

    • /
    • Show excerpt? Not checked
      Excerpt length (No. of words):
      Before / After (Excerpt): /
Show password protected posts? Not checked
Show only previous posts? Not checked
Show admins (user level > 8) the match scores? Checked

  • @mee213 Hello! Thanks for trying out YARPP. I’m not sure if you’ve dropped the related_posts() function in The Loop… if you don’t, you won’t be getting any output displayed.

Basic directions and another suggestion can be found in the other notes section of the docs. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I don’t find any ‘related_posts()’ functions anywhere in the index.php or single.php files, am I looking in the right place?

    resolved, thanks.

i have the same problem, but I don’t have a loop because it is a custom template. I searched all the files and they don’t have this related posts thing. What do I do?

@crazlunatic I would recommend finding the_content() in your themes, and inserting the related_posts() function right after that.

You may find a few instances of the_content(), depending on how your theme works… like one for the front page, one for archives, and one for single page displays. You can choose to put related_posts() in any or all of those locations, though I would recommend only the single post view, if your theme has that.

    I hope that helps!
