Hi, I have the same question like @hamil – I’m running Google Analytics with consent and I want to run Burst without. But I don’t know how whitelistening works in Complianz. I have the option to set a script or an URL on the whitelist. But what I should take https://www.burst-statistics.com, the javascript mentioned in the other script?

    Greetings Kathrin

    Hi @topfgartenwelt,

I will write an article today,

    You can whitelist ‘burst.js, burst.min.js’

    Hi,

thank you very much I will try it.

But something is weird without whitelistening Burst, Burst counts about 100 page views less than Google Analytics – why does that happen?

    Hi @topfgartenwelt,

Does the difference get smaller after whitelisting Burst?

There will inevitably be differences between reported pageviews. If you would install 5 statistics tools, most likely you would see 5 different numbers for pageviews.

There are many variables that determine the reported numbers. Some examples: When is a pageview not counted, but determined as a bounce, filtering of bots, refreshed pages, inactive sessions, etc.

Did you see this article about whitelisting Burst as well?

    Kind regards,
    Leon

Hi, the difference is still there after whitelistening Burst. Compliance is configurated for TCF and Burst is whitlisted. But even Google Analytics only counts page views with consent, it counts more than Burst. That’s strange. There are a lot visitors that decline Google Analytics, so where they are? I can’t see them in Google Analytics but it seems that I also can’t see them with Burst.

    Hi Kathrin,

That’s strange indeed. There could be multiple reasons for a difference.

    These are the possible reasons:
    1. Difference in how we calculate bounce rate.
Google Analytics is more aggresive in filtering out bounces than Burst. This means that Google should filter out more data. Thus showing less pageviews which on your website is not the case.

    2. Difference in timezone.
There could be a difference in timezone between Burst and Google Analytics. Burst uses the website timezone set in the general settings. Could you check if the timezone in Analytics is equal to that in Burst?

    3. Difference in visitors excluded from tracking.
In Burst we exclude bot visits from tracking. This blocklist is probably different to Google’s blocklist. We also exclude administrators from tracking.

If you think the difference is not caused by any of the above reasons, please let us know. We’ll try to dig deeper and find the issue to your problem.

    Kind regards,
    Hessel

Hi, thanks for getting me back. I can’t find any difference concerning the time zone and I’m the only administrator of my homepage.

    Greetings Kathrin
