    Hi,

posted this question one hour ago, but it is not showing on support:

Having high server loads and host has told me.

to disable live scans for wordfence. (will this help too?)

I want to keep Live scan to identify high page users, how can I decrease setting to greatly reduce load (scan every x? second)

I want to keep using this plugin, since its awesome and has helped me identify someone (IP) who stole my whole content!.
Anyways, how I can do the following, please?

You may want to try disabling the wordfence scans. The wp_wfHoover table also shows to be using 1,.203,625 rows.

You may need to temporarily deactivate wordfence and clear that table:

Don’t know where to find this table or how to clear any data?

    Thank you

    sorry,

    How to CLEAR wp_wfHoover table

You can find the wp_wfHoover table in your database, using phpMyAdmin. It is one of the tables created and used by the Wordfence Security plugin.

I suppose you can delete its records through an SQL query, but I don’t know if this action would not disrupt anything else related to the plugin.

On a second thought, reading this thread, maybe it is a better solution to disable the plugin, manually delete all its tables, then re-enable it. The plugin’s author says this should recreate them. It is for you to decide if you need to keep old WF data or don’t mind starting from zero again.

    Thanks for the reply.

    That does sound complicated.

Is it possible to completely delete the plugin and then reinstall

    fresh?

Would that get rid of the wp_wfHoover table?

Normally, deleting the plugin and reinstalling it should drop the tables and recreate them. I did not do it myself, so I cannot say for sure.

Angie101: I just answered your other post a little while ago, so let me know if that helps. CI Media is right that you can cause Wordfence to recreate its tables — on the Wordfence Options page, enable “Delete Wordfence tables and data on deactivation”, and then deactivate Wordfence. When you reactivate it, it should recreate the tables.

This will reset all of Wordfence’s settings, and won’t save manually blocked IPs, etc., if you have any — if you want to keep all of the settings, you can use the “Export Wordfence Settings” button near the bottom of the Options page, and save the long “token” that it gives you, to import later.

If the wp_wfHoover table is still large after that, there must be a problem with the privileges in the database. Details are included in the other post, and your host can probably help if you are not sure how to check the privileges.

CI Media: Thanks for helping with the other answers above!

Thanks very much for your responses and help, Matt

Sorry, I did not mean to double post, but the other posts did not get published, even after waiting for over an hour!

Anyways, I will follow your instructions and it does sound something could be wrong with my database and the privileges if the scans are not completing
and the tables are not clearing.

I will have to contact my host for that and ask them to check and fix.

Love this plugin and want to make it work ??

No problem, sometimes odd things like that happen with the forum here. I’ll mark this one complete and continue replying in the other post. Thanks!
