• I discovered and fixed a simple bug in bibliofly. This plugin has not been updated in a year and a half, and the author and plugin websites are stubs. Forum entries about this plugin have been ignored by the author.

I would like to upload my new version. It only differs from the original in about three lines. It doesn’t seem worth it to make a whole new plugin for such a small change.

Is this kosher? How do I get my new version to the right place?

(The bug is that the short code that is supposed to output the entire bibliography actually omits the ‘article’ type. This happens because the author was inconsistent, and said ‘article’ in some places and ‘essay’ in others. The other four types come out just fine.)

    Thanks.

There are two things you could do:

    1. Find a way to ask the developer if you can take over development of the plugin.

    2. If the code was released under GPL or similar license, you could take the source code, re-name it, fix the bug, and re-release it as your own plugin.

The developer’s name is Deborah McDonnell. A fairly common name, so googling is not very helpful.

    Anyone have a lead?
