Hello, how would I import a list of pages and ensure each page is assigned a corresponding parent page if it has one, and then also import a menu with the same structure. For example, I might have the pages: home, about us, our school, and curriculum. ‘Home’ and ‘about us’ are top level pages without a parent while ‘our school’ and ‘curriculum; would have about us as their parent page. Thus the menu would have ‘home’ and ‘about us’ with ‘about us’ having a submenu with ‘our school’ and ‘curriculum’

    Hi @lgoldsten,

Yes, you can easily import pages and assign them to their corresponding parent pages using our plugin. To do this, simply include the parent page title in a field like ‘post_parent’ for each corresponding record in your import file. This will ensure that pages like ‘Our School’ and ‘Curriculum’ are correctly nested under ‘About Us.’

As for importing menus with the same structure, this feature is currently not supported. To help you understand, you can download a sample CSV file here: Navigation Menu CSV.

Thank you for your response. I have downloaded the Navigation Menu CSV file and tried to import it to understand how it works, but it gave me a message saying “error during upload.” Is that what you intended? Even if it’s not supported to have the menu imported alongside the pages, is it possible to create a different file to import the menu as a separate import? If so, what might that look like for a very simple example such as ‘home’ and ‘about us’ as top level menu items with ‘about us’ having a submenu containing ‘our school’ and ‘curriculum’ ?

    Hi @lgoldsten,

Thank you for your follow-up. If you received an “error during upload” message, it could be due to a few reasons such as file format issues or upload limits. To better understand how the import process works, you can test it on our demo instance here: Demo Instance Link.

For a visual guide, please refer to our video tutorial and download the sample CSV file here: Video & CSV Sample Link.

Currently, our plugin does not support importing hierarchical menus (e.g., with parent and submenu items). If this functionality is crucial for you, we can offer customization services to meet your needs.

Feel free to reach out if you need further assistance or if you’re interested in customization options.

    Hi @lgoldsten,

We’re glad we could provide some clarification on the issue. As mentioned, importing hierarchical menus is not supported out-of-the-box, but we do offer customization services if needed. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out again.

Since the main query has been addressed, I’ll go ahead and mark this topic as resolved. Thanks for reaching out!
