How would you use this for single posts page?

I think this plugin is great. And I am fairly new with WordPress PHP. But I have a programming background. My question though, is if you have a slider, and you select one slide it will take you to a Single Posts page. Then, the Taxonomy of the slider is missing in the previous and next posts on the single post’s page. Could I use this plugin to somehow endow Single Posts page with a single category filter somehow? Help and criticism is mutually appreciated. Or if there would be a simpler way–then please enlighten me. I am using twentyfourteen by the way.
