[HOWTO]?Translate this plugin in your own language
-
Do you want this plugin to be translated into your language? Do you want to participate? Sounds good! ??
Here is the way to translate Live Weather Station in your own language. How it works?
The translation of Live Weather Station is a collective work. As many other plugins author I don’t speak as many languages as WordPress translations, so it relies on the users community… You!
The completion of a translation is done with WordPress online tools and following its simple guidelines. What you need to participate:
To start (or participate) in a collective translation of this plugin, you need two things: a www.ads-software.com account and your knowledge of the language ??What you must know:
To find ressources on translations, handbooks, guidelines, etc. your starting point is The Polyglots Blog. This blog is the central point of the translators community, either for the core of wordpress, the plugins or the themes.
There are many interesting things on this blog that I let you discover, but the main documents – the ones I encourage you to read before you start – are:- The General Expectations, the do’s and don’ts
- The Glossaries and Style Guides, per locale
How to start?
Just go to the official GlotPress section for Live Weather Station and pick the line for your language…What is the process?
The process is pretty simple:- translator(s) (you) translates strings
- plugin translation editor(s) (PTE) validates the translator(s) work
- when translation is validated with more than 95%, it becomes avalaible via your website Dashboard, auto update, etc.
If you want to become a translation editor (to be more involved in translations, to accellerate the process, or to have the ability to import PO files), just start to translate 50-60 strings and contact me (via this post or via Slack) so that I can submit your application for you to become a Plugin Translation Editor (if your strings are correctly translated, it is a just a formality).
How to get help?
You can get help from the community of translators of your own language, usually on the #polyglots channel of Slack, or directly from me (preferably via Slack).
