• Well, typically I am not one to leave negative reviews, unfortunately, TranslatePress absolutely wrecked the SEO of our help site. The premium plugin generated bad hreflang URLs that lead Googlebot to dozens of 404 not found errors. In fact, Google Search Console reported over 200 and that was just the 404 URLs that were actually crawled.

I provided WordPress admin access to TranslatePress support who generally seemed to care. However, there was no solution offered. Uninstalling the plugin required removing database tables which may prove difficult for some users. It was also necessary to manually add a few hundred 410 redirects through Yoast to replace the 404s Googlebot had found (or not found if you will). Not a fun afternoon. :-/

I just wanted to add that TranslatePress support did follow up (again) and make their best efforts to fix the issue. In fact, when I let them know it was too late and I had already disabled/deleted the plugin I was offered a refund in full which I happily accepted. I honestly wish it would have worked out. Thank you.
