htaccess

  • Can anyone explain why I need htaccess files for wp?
    The ones I have right now just prevent deeplinking and redirect to my own error-pages (such as 404-codes).
    What should be in them to make wp1.2 safer?

  • It doesn’t make it safer, it makes it work in an efficient manner that is very search engine friendly.
    Adding to .htacess for security is outside of wp coding
