.htaccess

  • The upgrade instructions say delete this file when upgrading from 1.5 to 1.5.1.1. I believe mine contains other information that my site needs and the Word Press content seems quite logically ‘sectioned’. Should I simply edit the file and remove the Word Press part or delete it completely before I run the upgrade script?

  • I would download and save a copy.
    Then edit out the WP bits from the one on the server
    Then upgrade and redo the permalinks

    If anything goes wrong – which it should not – then you have a backup to try a different way.
